I had my Titration Sleep Study at #OzarksHealthcare last week. I apparently stop breathing a lot, like a lot – a lot. So I am looking forward to looking like some alien or elephant 🐘. Or maybe an Alien Elephant👾. Ok, now back on topic. I know it will take time to get used too, it only took a few weeks to acclimate to my cannulas (the tubes in my nose carrying oxygen).
I am hoping the CPAP will help JC and me sleep better. You never know the rewards, we might have enough energy to complete our to-do list and our bathroom redo. Miracles do happen 😇
I wanted to share some pictures of me getting ready for a weird nights sleep. So please be nice to my ego. But before I do I wanted to share a few tips I picked up to make your night at the sleep lab easier.
Tip #1 Bring your own pillow, it will keep your sleeping experience closer to your bed at home.
Tip #2 Put a few movies, tv shows, or audiobooks on your phone, It helps to fall asleep if you are distracted by something familiar. Ozarks Healthcare rooms had TVs and cable, but you may want your own.
Tip #3 Try to keep your nightly routine the same. Brush your teeth, say your prayers, and take your meds about the same time in the same order,
Tip #4 Ask beforehand if there will be showers available. I had an appointment in West Plains the next day and did not want to have the goop in my hair. Also, Tip #5 is to stand under the hot water for several minutes before trying to wash it off. That was a tip from one of the nurses, a really good tip.
Have fun, make the most of it! Now to the laughing…
